Society for Philosophy of Science in Practice (SPSP) Eleventh Biennial Conference
Call for Posters
Submission is now open for poster abstracts to be presented at SPSP 2026, hosted by the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Cambridge, UK. The conference dates are July 15–17, 2026; with the traditional post-conference workshop held on July 18.
Poster abstracts may be on any research topic in the philosophy of science in practice, focusing on detailed and systematic studies of scientific practices — neither dismissing concerns about truth and rationality, nor ignoring contextual and pragmatic factors.
We welcome contributions from philosophers, historians and sociologists of science, practicing scientists, and any others with an interest in philosophical questions regarding scientific practice. We strive for quality, variety, innovation, and diversity in accepted abstracts.

Poster formats
Poster submissions must include a title, an abstract of 500 words, full affiliation details, and contact information for the presenter(s). Reminder: Please specify [Poster] in the title of your poster, so that it can be clearly distinguished from paper/symposium submissions.
A presenting author on a contributed paper or participating in a symposium may also submit one poster abstract on a substantially different topic. However, the same person will not be allowed to present both a paper and a poster. Accordingly, for those submitting both paper/symposium and poster abstracts the following rules apply:
- if the paper/symposium is accepted, the poster will be rejected, and
- if the paper/symposium is rejected, the Organising Committee will then consider the poster abstract and make a decision.
If you are wondering how to design your poster or to prepare your poster presentation, we found the PSA2016 and Daily Nous websites helpful.
Presentations and prize
There will be dedicated slots for poster presentation in the conference program: Presenters should be present at their posters during those times. The best poster as selected by conference participants, will be awarded a prize of €250.
